Description
AlonFlower(tm): Neurological and physical game for TBI people (stroke survivors, cerebral palsy) improving fine and gross motor skills and utilizing neuroplasticity.
AlonFlower(tm) is a therapeutic game played by a one-hand person. The TBI individuals grip an object from the holder & base with their weaker muscles with the help of their AlonGlove(tm) & AlonTwig(tm). The individual carries the object and drops it to the hoops’ basket. Inside the basket are the tiny four colorful hoops. The green hoop is extremely hard, but the yellow hoop is easy. The player drops colorful droplets corresponding to the hoop on the petals boards. Stroke is a common neurological condition that affects a significant number of individuals worldwide. Stroke can result in long-term disability, with loss of fine and gross motor skills being a common issue in survivors. Currently, many recovery approaches for stroke survivors require a culture of dependence that impacts both the survivor and their caregiver. Hence, there is an unmet need for stroke recovery equipment that focuses on utilizing neuroplasticity, improving fine and gross motor skills, and providing an enjoyable approach to recovery.
The AlonFlower(tm) is a neurological and physical game for TBI people (stroke survivors, etc) with one-handed playability. The AlonFlowers utilizes a combination of neuroplasticity and a fun-filled approach to improve the fine and gross motor skills of TBI people while also reducing the culture of dependence on caregivers. The players can train their feeble fingers and thumbs to pick up small objects or tennis-shape objects and drop them into tiny nets while keeping score using colored droplets on laminate scoreboards. The players can their game’s scores and analyze the data and send reports to their therapists.
AlonFlowers(tm) is a neurological game for TBI people (stroke survivors, ect) and nursing guests designed to improve their fine and gross motor skills by engaging the brain’s neuroplasticity function. The game comprises tiny nets, small objects, and laminate scoreboards with colored glass beads. The player picks up small objects using their feeble fingers and drops them into the tiny nets. The score is recorded using colored glass beads on laminate scoreboards. The game is based on a fun-filled approach that changes the mindset of the player from viewing recovery as a boring exercise to an exciting gameplay experience.
“I work all of the week. Three or four times a week, I exercise with my Flower game at 8pm. When I fly or go on a road trip, I make sure that my Flower is with me”, said Alon.
The game is designed to reduce the culture of dependence on caregivers that currently exists in stroke recovery approaches. The game can be played independently, making it a time-efficient approach to recovery. The game’s scores are fed into an app that can analyze and send data to the stroke survivor’s therapist. Since the game utilizes neuroplasticity, it improves the brain’s ability to change in structure or function in response to experience. This implies that the healthy brain tissue can be trained to perform the functions previously controlled by damaged brain cells, ultimately helping stroke survivors become whole again.
